As the cost of a Solar Energy System keeps falling it makes a lot of sense to go green. Whether you decide to install solar panels on the roof of your new Steel Building now or sometime in the future, you can relax. We have you covered. Every Steel Building manufactured by Galindo Steel includes an additional 3 lb. per square foot collateral load engineered right into it, just for this reason. Another sunny California day just got a little brighter.
If you are not a fan of cluttering up your beautiful new steel roof, we can offer a variety of other structural solutions, like Solar Carports, Solar Trees, racks or maybe even some new innovative way nobody’s thought of yet.
What is Solar Reflectivity? (SR)
Solar reflectlvlty or reflectance Is the ability of a material to reflect solar energy
from Its surface hack into the atmosphere. The SR value Is a number from 0 to
1 D. A value of 0 indicates that the material absorbs all solar energy and a value
of 1 0 indicates total reflectance. Energy Star requires an SR value of 065 or
higher for low slaps (2.12 or less) roofing. For more information, visit our
website.
What Is Solar Reflective Index? (SRI)
The SRI is used to determine compliance with LEED requirements and it is
calculated according to ASTM E 1980 using values for reflectance and
emissivity. Emissivity is a material's ability to release absorbed energy. To meet
LEED requirements, a roofing material must have an SRI of 29 or higher for
sleep slope (above 212)roofIng and SRI value of 78 or higher for low slope (2
12 or less) roofing. For more Information, visit our website.
